Description

Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) have the potential to transform the way we, as storytellers, communicate with the world. But where do you start? With so many devices and experiences out there, the virtual reality ecosystem can be overwhelming.

Join Greg Bilsland, senior communications manager at AxonVR and an alumnus of the Communication Leadership graduate program, in a workshop that covers the basics of virtual and augmented reality, including:

  • Hardware for experiencing AR/VR
  • Hardware for filming/streaming VR
  • Best practices (e.g., how to create presence, avoid motion sickness)
  • Current software ecosystems (Vive, Oculus, Steam, Google)
  • Haptics (tactile and kinesthetic feedback)
  • Resources for learning more

We’ll have some devices and experience available for attendees to gain hands-on experience.
